Marta Poy is a product designer based in Madrid. Her practice explores the connections between engineering, user experience and material behaviour, using design as a common language to bring different disciplines together.
Her approach combines analytical thinking with an intuitive sensitivity. She designs products that respond to real needs while considering how people interact with, perceive and experience them.
Furniture is at the heart of her practice. She finds inspiration in the way things are made: a joint, a bend, the texture of a material or the marks left by a production process can become the starting point for a design. Her work explores how these elements can give objects character, intention and meaning, creating pieces where form, function and manufacturing are closely connected.
Early in her professional career, her work has already received international recognition, including a FIT Design Award, and has been presented at the Biodesign Challenge at MoMA in New York.
